Don’t Give Up on Homeschooling!: Motivation to Keep Homeschooling

Homeschooling is hard. Some days I want to quit. If you’ve felt like this, you’re not alone. In this video I try to talk us both off that ledge, with some encouragement and the biggest reasons that keep me committed to homeschooling. My prayer is that it gives you a new perspective and a stronger resolve to push through the hard parts, so you don’t give up (if homeschooling is what’s best for your family) and so you can do it joyfully.

Wanting to quit doesn’t mean you’re failing

Hard days come with homeschooling. Feeling like you want to throw in the towel doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It means you’re human, and you’re carrying a lot.

Hold on to your why

What keeps me going is coming back to my biggest reasons for homeschooling. When I remember why we chose this, it’s easier to push through a rough week.

What other moms took from it

The comments on this one meant so much to me. One mom said family unity was the most beautiful reason she’d heard to homeschool. Another said it reminded her how important it is for parents to recharge. And one put it perfectly: “Why undo all that we have built when we can readjust and keep going?”

If part of what’s wearing you down is getting kids to finish their work, watch ideas to motivate your kids to get their school work done quickly next.
