If you homeschool, this is how we do our “Christmas class party” at home. If you don’t, it’s just as fun as a silly little family party. Here are four Christmas games for kids ages 4 and up, a craft your kids can actually do themselves, and a no-bake treat to make together.
What you’ll get from this post

- How to make each game easier or harder for different ages

Set the scene
A few simple things make the house feel like a party: some cute plates and cups, a tablecloth, and balloons. Kids always love balloons.
Game 1: Snowball toss
You need: six cups and three ping-pong balls.
- Stack the cups in a pyramid: three on the bottom, two in the middle, one on top.
- Set a starting line. Put it closer for younger kids and further back for older ones.
- Each child gets three tries to throw the “snowballs” and knock down the whole stack.
My kids had so much fun with this one. They can keep taking turns to see how many they knock down with each throw. To make it more challenging, keep moving the starting line further back.
Game 2: Snowball race
You need: two cups and two ping-pong balls.
- Place two cups at the end of the room against an open wall.
- Two players go at a time, each with a ping-pong ball.
- They have to blow the ball across the floor and into their cup. No touching the ball.
Game 3: Christmas puzzle race
You need: one Christmas puzzle per child, sized for their age.
Give each child their own puzzle bag. Older kids get puzzles with smaller pieces, and younger kids get bigger pieces, so it’s fair for everyone. Everyone starts at the same time, and the first to finish wins.
Our puzzles each had a Christmas song written on them, so kids got bonus points for singing some of the song once their puzzle was done.
Game 4: Christmas treasure hunt
This is by far my kids’ favorite activity.
- Write numbered clue cards, plus a list for yourself of where each card gets hidden.
- Hide the clues around the house so each one leads to the next.
- Hide the “treasure” in the final spot. Ours was a little red satchel with a treat inside.
- Keep the clues and treasure out of sight until the hunt starts.
Craft: candy cane bead ornaments
There are so many crafts where I end up basically doing it for my child, and that’s so obnoxious. This one my kids could do on their own, and they really enjoyed it.
You need: a pipe cleaner per child, red, clear and green tri beads, and a bit of string.
- Let each child choose their own bead pattern.
- String the beads onto the pipe cleaner.
- Bend it into a candy cane shape.
- Tie the string at the top so you can hang it on the tree.
I used to think tri beads were so fun to fit together when I was a kid.
Bonus treat: dipped Ritz crackers
These are so, so good, and there’s no baking involved, so they’re easy for kids to help make.
- Spread peanut butter on Ritz crackers and make little sandwiches.
- Dip them in melted candy coating.
- Add Christmas-colored sprinkles if you want.
- Set them on a plate or baking sheet and put them in the fridge to harden.
Key takeaways
- Cups and ping-pong balls make two quick Christmas games.
- Adjust the starting line or puzzle size so every age can play.
- A numbered-clue treasure hunt is the biggest hit with our kids.
- Pick crafts kids can finish on their own, like candy cane bead ornaments.
- Dipped Ritz cracker sandwiches are a no-bake treat kids can help with.

Merry christmas thank you so much for joining me today I'm excited to bring you some super fun games you can play with your kids and a stress-free craft idea for you so stay tuned last year I did another video with some christmas party game ideas so you'll have to check that one out as well for some other ideas today's video is actually a collaboration with some other amazing homeschool moms sharing some of their favorite things to do around christmas time christmas activities for your homeschool or just for fun or christmas party ideas
So definitely go and check out that playlist next I'll leave a link in the description box below so you can go see all that they have to share with you and thank you so much to those moms who join me today
So let's jump right in we've got some cute plates and a tablecloth and some balloons which always make your house feel more festive and kids love balloons always
And then some cute party cups so that your table looks complete
Okay so we're just gonna pull out our instructions here and the first game we have here is the snowball toss stack cups in a pyramid three on the bottom two in the middle and one on top set a starting line you can set this closer for younger ones and further back for older kids give your child the three ping-pong balls that are included in your box for three attempts they will throw the ball at the stack of cups to try and knock them all down they get three tries
So we've got ping pong balls included in the kit for you and my kids had so much fun with this one and this is one that they can keep on taking turns and see how many they can knock down with each throw see if they get better and better you can keep moving the starting line back further and further to make it more challenging so this is something they can keep playing over and over the second game we have is called the snowball race place two cups at the end of the room against an open wall two players will go at a time give each player a ping-pong ball they have to blow the ball across the floor
And into their cup they can't touch the ball though our third game here is called a puzzle race now for this game when you sign up for a kit you're gonna tell me how old your kids are this kit is made for ages four to ten of course anybody can play but that is the age range that these games are intended for and the crafts are intended for will include a puzzle based on their age so if they're older their pieces will be cut smaller if they're younger their pieces will be cut bigger
So it will be easier and so each kid will have their own puzzle kit you'll give each child a puzzle bag and the age level will be listed on the bag and everyone will start at the same time to see who can finish their puzzle first each puzzle has a christmas song written on it so they get bonus points for singing some of that song the fourth game is a christmas treasure hunt this is by far my kids favorite activity to do when you get the kit we have this special envelope that is just for you
And inside are your treasure hunt instructions so we have listed here where each card should be hidden in your house and then also inside the envelope are your clue cards now they're numbered to match up with your instructions so we make this super easy for you to set up and then the treasure the prize that they're hunting for is this little red satchel so you'll hide this in the final hiding spot for them to find and there's a treat inside for them so if your kids are going to open the box with you you just want to be sure that they don't open this envelope or this bag
And all of these things will be written in the instructions that I sent you in an email after you place your order so don't worry I'll make sure to remind you and then finally we have the craft we're going to be making little candy cane ornaments so each child gets their own set of beads and these are the little tri beads I don't know if you remember working with these but I used to think they were so fun to fit together my kids really enjoyed this they can choose what type of pattern they want to do they each get red clear
And green beads so they can make this however they want what they'll do is string their beads onto the pipe cleaner and then shape it like a candy cane and then tie the string at the top so that you can hang it on your tree the bonus snack recipe are dipped ritz crackers I love these you spread peanut butter on ritz crackers and make them into little sandwiches and then you dip those into melted candy coating and then you can put christmas colored sprinkles on them if you want
And then put them on a plate or a baking sheet and put them in the fridge so that they harden and they are so so good highly recommend making those no baking involved it's pretty easy for your kids to do with you if you want to make this like a home school class party if you're homeschoolers or if you just want to have some fun family time with your kids this christmas season this is an awesome way to do it
And I hope you guys have an amazing christmas if you're new here my name is Sarah and I like to talk about all things homeschooling and our life as a family of six so if that interests you go ahead and hit that subscribe button below so you don't miss another video and I'll talk to you soon thanks merry christmas you
