The Advent calendar has become one of our favorite Christmas family traditions. I’ve made a few kinds over the years, and this one is definitely my favorite. I think the kids will have so much fun poking through the tissue paper each day! Here’s what goes inside, plus a free printable of the activities and Bible verses I used.
What you’ll get from this post
- What I put in each day’s cup
- Small-treat ideas besides candy
- Our free, editable printable of daily activities and Bible verses
What goes in each cup
Each cup is covered with tissue paper for the kids to poke through. For every day leading up to Christmas, I put in:
- An activity to do together that day
- A Bible verse to read
- Little candies. I have four kids, which is why there’s so much candy in each cup!
Treat ideas besides candy
You could also use stickers, trinkets, temporary tattoos, chewing gum or colorful bandaids.
