Let’s get organized for the upcoming school year! So far we’ve changed our organizing method every year depending on the curriculum we’re using. Here are three ways to organize your homeschool books and supplies, all ones we’ve actually used.
What you’ll get from this post
- Sterilite storage drawers
- Magazine file holders for each child’s books
- A tall bookshelf for everything else
- Where we got each one
Some links here are affiliate links. If you buy, we may earn a little, at no extra cost to you. We only share stuff we actually use.
1. Sterilite storage drawers
Our first option is a set of Sterilite plastic storage drawers from Walmart. Drawers are an easy way to keep supplies and workbooks sorted and out of sight.
2. File holders
Magazine-style file holders keep books and workbooks upright and easy to grab. Ours are from IKEA, and labels make it clear whose books go where.
3. A bookshelf
A bookshelf holds the bigger collection of books and curriculum. Our super tall one is the IKEA IVAR shelf unit.
Which one should you choose?
Your setup can change with your curriculum. Ours has changed every year. Pick the method that fits the books and supplies you’re using this year.
