Brett Cooper was homeschooled, and in this clip she talks about the old “homeschool kids are weird” stereotype. Her answer made me laugh, and it hit on one of my favorite things about homeschooling.
“I’m so glad that I’m not one”
Brett remembers seeing homeschool kids as a kid and thinking they were always kind of weird. Then she owns it: she definitely was weird too. But when she looks at “normal” kids these days, especially in the TikTok age, she says she’s so glad she’s not one of them.
The perk I love most
What she loved about homeschooling was the flexibility. She was able to do everything she was interested in, and she even had an entire acting career.
That’s a huge perk for our family too. It’s just the amount of time kids get back in their childhood. When school doesn’t fill the whole day, there’s room to chase what they actually love.
